Some donations come with a bike ride. This fall we presented $40,000 to the Yaletown House Foundation, raised through our 2025 Diner en Blanc Gala. The funds support their Duet Bike Replacement Program and Therapeutic Services.
If you haven’t seen a duet bike before, picture a wheelchair and a bicycle working as a team. A resident rides up front, a pilot pedals behind, and the seawall opens up to everyone again. Fresh air, sunshine and a front-row seat. It’s one of the happiest things we get to fund.
Yaletown House has received more support from our club than any other cause, over $470,000 since 2008. When the team unfurled a banner reading “Powered by the Yaletown Lions Club,” it said everything about the partnership. Their message to us was simple: thank you, Lions. The pleasure is ours.
